Accreditation
Our school maintains accreditation by the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) programs.
The National Lutheran School Accreditation program encourages and recognizes Lutheran schools that provide quality Christian education and engage in continuous improvement. It helps Lutheran schools evaluate their academic quality and the spiritual dimension of the school. The standards and report forms are similar to other accrediting processes, both secular and religious.
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation program helps schools maximize school improvement efforts. In the SACS accreditation process we recognize the significant impact and benefit that stem from integrating school improvement and accreditation, including increased student performance.
In addition to our school accreditation:
- Our preschool is recognized as a Five-Star Rated Preschool by the state of North Carolina.
- SSLS was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education in 2003.
