Welcome to St. Stephens Lutheran Summer Camp 2020 (rising 1st thru rising 6th)

A Wild and Crazy Summer

Each week, our summer camp offers fun and exciting themes which include indoor/outdoor games, water play, art, daily devotions,

“Cool Science” and cooking activities all within a warm, Christian environment. Daily (Monday through Thursday) field trips, Friday pizza and Bike/Splash Day round out the fun.

Our summer camp begins Monday, June 1st and ends Friday, July 31st.  
We are open from 7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  **child must be at camp by 8:30 a.m.or they will not be allowed in that day.**

Field Trip Information

Each week we will be going on 4-5 field trips. We have an experienced CDL licensed bus driver to get us to and from our field trips.

*A weekly calendar with exact dates and times of field trips will be dispersed the beginning of summer camp. At this time with the Covid-19 situation, we do not know what will be the options.

Field trip experiences include:

  • Pin Station
  • Discovery Place (Charlotte)
  • Foothills Gymnastics (Hickory)
  • Hiddenite Emerald Mine (Hiddenite)
  • Bo’s (Lenoir)
  • Hickory Art Museum
  • Hickory Science Center/Planetarium show/Aquarium
  • Carolina Theater-Hickory
  • Kool Park
  • Lazy 5 Ranch (Mooresville)
  • Bisque-n-Beads

*If you would like to go on any of the field trips, please let McKenzie Becker, Summer Camp Director, know at registration.

*NO PACKED LUNCH is needed on days we go to, Bo’s and on Fridays. Pizza on Friday is optional (see “what to bring”).

Summer Camp Fees

Non-refundable registration fee-$50.00 due at time of registration Weekly cost:

  • 3 Day- $85.00
  • 5 Day-$115.00
  • Friday Pizza - $5.00 each week which can be paid weekly, monthly or
  • $50.00 for entire summer camp

*Each child will have a pouch kept here for extra field trip money (food, drink, etc.). You may deposit money any time but please let staff know. This money will be carried by the summer camp director at all times.

What Do I Need To Bring

*Monday – Thursday: Please bring a packed lunch, including a drink

and several snacks for the day. Fridays are pizza day (see “Summer camp Fees”). Please bring snacks for those days as well. Packed lunch on Fridays is optional.

*We are asking each family to donate 1 bottle sunscreen (SPF 50 or higher) per child for our outdoor summer fun. If your child has special needs and will be bringing their own sunscreen, please label. There is a permission form and medical release form that you may fill out so that we may apply as needed.

*Please bring a plain, white pillowcase for camping week.

*On “Outdoor Water Game days” please bring an extra change of OLD clothing (may get stained), water shoes, squirt gun and a towel.

*On “Kool Park days” please bring a swimsuit, and a towel.

*Extra money for extra food, drink, etc. during field trips. The money pouches stay with McKenzie Becker or counselor at all times.

**NO ELECTRONICS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING SUMMER CAMP AT ANY TIME**
